<image:caption>"Insectopia" is a water fountain, featuring a pond surrounded by insects, who perform by squirting water into the pond. There is a circle of water jets coming from inside the pond, and some of the insects have special tricks. A bee flies off of a flower, buzzes around making noise until a frog squirts him and he lands back on the flower. A ladybug squirts water into a cup on a pendulum, which pivots back until the water dumps out, the pendulum returns so that the ladybug can do it again.</image:caption>

<image:caption>"Rolling With Friends" is a tabletop Rolling Ball Sculpture. It is operated by hand: you pick up some marbles at the bottom, and drop them at the top. They alternate on two different tracks. When the dog is activated by a marble, he wags his tail and moves his right paw up and down. The cat turns his head back and forth when a marble arrives there. YouTube Video This was auctioned for the North Bay Humane Society. By now you may have noticed the "dog and cat" theme for these.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Animal Automaton. I made this for the benefit auction for the North Bay Humane Society. There is a hanging counterweight that powers it. It runs for about 30-40 minutes on a winding. It is based on "Galileo's Bicycle" by Clayton Boyer. Of course, I had to change it to make it more in tune with the Humane Society, and add some changes of my own. It is meant to mount on the wall, but here it is mounted on a lumber stand to present at the Humane Society's event. YouTube video</image:caption>

<image:caption>Video "Par One" is a Rolling Ball Sculpture with golf. A man operating a ball machine gets a ball in his bucket, and pours it onto the golf course. A golfer with a driver hits it onto the course, where it travels down to a spiral funnel hole. A putter hits the ball toward the hole, it misses the hole, and a gopher pops up and knocks the ball into the hole. This sculpture is 24" (61 cm) tall, and has two separate tracks for the balls to travel to the bottom.</image:caption>

<image:caption>YouTube Video Click!…Whirrr…Hummm…Bang! These are the sounds of “The Flying Marbellos”: a rolling ball sculpture with marbles and small metal “bugs” to run the show. The purpose of a rolling ball sculpture (RBS) is to transport balls to the top of a system of tracks, where they proceed to find different and amusing paths on the way down. Is this a silly thing to do? Yes! Do people love to watch these things for long periods of time? Yes! Put an RBS in a public place and you can attract a crowd surrounding it. I love watching mechanical things, but building this turned out to be even more fun.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Wizard's Run - Wizard’s Run</image:title>
<image:caption>Video from YouTube Another video of details. This is a Rolling Ball Sculpture. The balls roll down tracks, and different things happen to them. A ball roll in front of the wizard, stops, and the track drops away as the ball floats in the air by magnetic levitation. When it is done, it flies out to the right to another track. Another ball rolls onto a magic carpet, which then carries the ball up. A ball lands in a small cart pulled by a hand-pumped railroad car to the other side. After four balls get lined up on the upper left, they are released to go down a track, shooting off the track where they bounce off a pad, go up into the air, and land in a funnel. The Wobble Lift hands balls from one little “hand” to another to carry them up.</image:caption>
